AK 47 Autoflowering Strain - Day 46 into Flowering
What does Auto flowering mean?
The Bud / Nug / Hootch we all smoke in the United States is actually the flower of the plant. In order to control the plant indoor growers alter the light cycles to push the plant into early production of the flowers. The vegetative cycle is 18 hours of light, 6 hours of darkness - after the plant has reached it’s desired size you would then change the light cycle to 12 hours light, 12 hours darkness. This signals to the plant that the end of the growing season is approaching (Fall / Winter) and it should begin to create flowers (and seeds if the flowers were pollinated but we don’t like that) so when the growing season ends it can ensure it’s genes will live on the next growing season. Auto flowering strains do not require a change in the light cycle, they simply start flowering on their own, generally 4 to 6 weeks after seedlings pop.
